General Information

The larvae initially produce a contorted gallery mine which follows a vein and which often turns at right angles later.

Foodplant(s): birches (Betula spp.), Hazel (Corylus avellana), Sweet Chestnut (Castanea sativa)
Flying: One generation, May-June

Habitat

Open woodland, heaths, moors and bogs.
