This species was previously known as the Powdered Wainscot.

Pupates amongst or below reeds.
Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often found at rest during day

Forewing length: 16-20mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Reed (Phragmites australis), Yellow Loosestrife (Lysimachia vulgaris), Water Dock (Rumex hydrolapathum), Greater Tussock-sedge (Carex paniculata), Great Fen-sedge (Cladium mariscus), Grey Willow (Salix cinerea)
Flying: One/two generations, May-July and August-early September
UK Presence: Resident, Possible Immigrant
National status: Nationally Scarce B

Fens, marshes, and wet areas.
