General Information

This species has a purple-pink marbling when freshly emerged.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 14-16mm.
Foodplant(s): Red Campion (Silene dioica), White Campion (Silene latifolia), Sea Campion (Silene uniflora), Ragged-Robin (Lychnis flos-cuculi)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and August-September
UK Presence: Resident

Habitat

Open grassy areas, fens, scrub, open woodland and gardens.
