General Information

This species has a sprinkling of brown and its cross-lines are more curved than the Common White Wave (C. pusaria).

 

Pupates in leaf litter.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 14-16mm.
Foodplant(s): willows (Salix spp.), sallows (Salix spp.), Aspen (Populus tremula), poplars (Populus spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May-early July and early July-early September
