General Information

This species is one of the more distinctive of the Tineidae. It flies at dusk or later and comes to light.

Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Wingspan: 12-15mm
Foodplant(s): fungi (under the bark of dead twigs of Elm), oaks (Quercus spp.), Beech (Fagus sylvatica), hawthorns (Crataegus spp.)
Flying: One generation, May-August
