General Information

This moth is the only all-white member of the small family of three species found in the UK. The large eyecaps are a distinctive feature.

 

The pre-adult stages are unknown, but it is suspected that the main larval foodplant is Sheep's Sorrel.

Both sexes come to light.

Wingspan: 9-12 mm.
Foodplant(s): Sheep's Sorrel (Rumex acetosella)
Flying: One generation, June-July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Heathland and grassland.
