This moth can be distinguished from Clavigesta purdeyi by its much larger size, the chestnut palps and head and chestnut and grey forewings.


Wingspan: 14-21 mm.
Foodplant(s): Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris)
Flying: One generation, May-July
National status: Nationally Scarce B

Habitat

Pine woods and heathland where there are young pines.
