The adults are dark with distinct whiter fasciae although some moths have rather less contrasting markings.

Wingspan: 7-8mm
Foodplant(s): meadow-grasses (Poa spp.), Cock's-foot (Dactylis glomerata), grasses
Flying: Two generations, April-June and July-September

Habitat

Damp meadows and woodland rides.
