General Information

This is a distinctive but variable species.

 

The larvae initially form a contorted blotch mine with black frass, before creating two successive cones formed by folding the tip of a leaf downwards.

Foodplant(s): privets (Ligustrum spp.), Ash (Fraxinus excelsior), Lilac (Syringa vulgaris)
Flying: Two generations, April-May and July-August
