General Information

This species has forelegs which are thickly scaled at the base, appearing 'feathered'.

 

The larvae produce a gallery mine which leads to a blotch. They then create two or three cones at the edge or tip of a leaf.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an adult.

Foodplant(s): sallows (Salix spp.), willows (Salix spp.), poplars (Populus spp.), Aspen (Populus tremula)
Flying: Two generations, late June-July and September-May (hibernates)
