General Information

This species is unmistakable. It rests with wings folded tightly against body.

 

When sitting on the tip of a shoot, this moth closely resembles a pine bud.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.

Forewing length: 15-16mm.
