General Information

Larvae vary greatly in colour from bright orange to dull grey.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 17-24mm.
Foodplant(s): sallows (Salix spp.), willows (Salix spp.), Aspen (Populus tremula), poplars (Populus spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and late July-August
