General Information

This species is unlikely to be confused with any other except the much larger Magpie (A. grossulariata).

 

Pupates underground.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often found at rest during day

Forewing length: 18-22mm.
Foodplant(s): Wych Elm (Ulmus glabra), English Elm (Ulmus procera), Japanese Golden Elm (Ulmus spp.)
Flying: One generation, late May-July
