General Information

Fresh specimens of this species are a greenish colour which fades to yellow with age.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.
Often found at rest during day

Forewing length: 10-14mm.
Foodplant(s): Holly (Ilex aquifolium), Ivy (Hedera helix), privets (Ligustrum spp.), Dogwood (Cornus sanguinea), Guelder-rose (Viburnum opulus), hawthorns (Crataegus spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and late July-early September
