General Information

The scalloped outer edges of the wings, fine curved cross-lines and central dots on both wings identify this moth. Some individuals have a diffuse dark central bank, but otherwise there is very little variation.

 

Pupates in plant debris on the ground.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 11-13mm.
Foodplant(s): bedstraws (Galium spp.), Field Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis)
Flying: One generation, mid June-late August
UK Presence: Resident

Habitat

Damp deciduous woodland, meadows and marshes.
