General Information

This species is very similar to S.bipunctidactyla and can only reliably be distinguished by genital dissection. S.bipunctidactyla generally has two small tufts of black scales in the termen of the second forewing lobe whereas this species usually has three rather broad tufts very close together and therefore can appear to show a continuous black line, especially if viewed against a pale background.

Wingspan: 17-24 mm.
Foodplant(s): Small Scabious (Scabiosa columbaria)
National status: Uncommon/Rare
