General Information

The vernacular name of this species comes from the semi-translucent hindwing which has a pearly sheen.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Doesn't overwinter in the UK.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 19-23mm.
Foodplant(s): Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), docks (Rumex spp.), Red Clover (Trifolium pratense), cabbages (Brassica spp.), Rape (Brassica napus), low-growing plants
Flying: All year (mostly September-October)
