General Information

This moth has a narrow forewing with a purplish-bronzy sheen and a whitish fascia which narrows towards the costa.

 

The larvae produce a contorted narrow gallery which initially encircles the spot the egg was laid, but which then forms a straight but irregular mine.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 4-5 mm.
Foodplant(s): birches (Betula spp.)
Flying: One generation, May-July
