General Information

This moth has a rich orange head and coppery purple forewing with metallic golden fascia.

 

The larvae produce very distinctive leaf-mines.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 6-7 mm.
Foodplant(s): Bramble (Rubus fruticosus), strawberries (Fragaria spp.), agrimonys (Agrimonia spp.)
Flying: Three generations, May, July and September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common
