General Information
The larvae overwinter twice low down in a reed stem, up to 20cm below water. Larvae are usually only seen in the third year where they move between reed stems.

Pupates in a reed stem.
Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Male readily comes to light, sometimes in numbers. Female not.

Forewing length: 15-23mm.
Foodplant(s): reeds (Phragmites spp.)
Flying: One generation, June-July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Red Data Book

Habitat

Fens, marshes, reed swamps and reedbeds.
