This species can be easily mistaken for a micro moth.

 

The early stages of this species have not been found in the wild in the UK.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 6-8mm.
Flying: One/two generations, late June-early August and September
