This species is quite variable in colour, but can be easily recognised by its very long upturned palps or 'snout'.

Pupates in the leaves of the food plant.
Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 15-19mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Nettle (Urtica dioica)
Flying: Two generations, June-early August and late August-mid October
