General Information

This is one of the very few green moths found in the UK.

 

Pupates in a cocoon attached to the underside of a leaf on in a bark crevice.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 16-19mm.
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.), birches (Betula spp.), Beech (Fagus sylvatica), broadleaved trees
Flying: One generation, May-September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland, heathland, scrub, grassland and gardens.
