This is a sexually dimorphic species with females showing more subdued colours.

Pupates in fallen conifer needles on or below ground.
Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light, males more often than females.
Flies during the day

Foodplant(s): Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris)
Flying: One generation, May-June
